Online (video) meeting/Virtual classroom

Virtual Classroom (YouSee by Bongo) Virtual classroom tool, suitable for online interactive classroom sessions (Session max: 150 participants per session, 240 minutes), screen sharing & virtual whiteboard tools integrated, sharing sessions with external (not TU Delft) users, recording sessions and optional publishing of recordings to a Brightspace course offering. Availabe in every Brightspace Course offering, no special access required.
MS Teams –
Meetings (300)
Tool for online (video) meetings communication with individuals and groups a
MS Teams –
Live Events (300 – 10.000)
MS Teams Live Events enable you to broadcast your lecture to up to 10.000 participants. Students (attendees) can only listen, watch and -if you enable it- ask questions in the Q&A chat.
Zoom Video conferencing tool (like Virtual Classroom) with screen sharing, breakout rooms and optional recording. Not integrared with brigthspace. Be aware that Zoom is not Not GDPR compliant and because it is temporarily available the TU Delft helpdesk does not support the use of Zoom.
Skype for Business Tool for video and audio communication with individuals and groups. Available to all TU Delft employees and not for students. Skype for Business communicates with normal Skype, but doesn’t have a screen sharing option.

Videos

Tool Name Description Special remarks
Kaltura Do-it-yourself video tool for recording from webcam / screen casting (i.e. ppt or screen) & video repository for videos created with Kaltura tool or other video tool. From the repository videos can be integrated and re-used in Brightspace course content. Availabe in every Brightspace Course offering, no special access required.
Do-it-yourself studios Teaching Lab and NewMedia Centre An on-campus studio booth to record your own presentations. Support will be available to help you getting started. The small studios are closed because of the crisis. The large green screen studio is now available upon request. Please visit the NMC website for further information.
Collegerama Service to record or live-stream your lecture in lecture halls. Recording is available directly after lecture and can be played back anytime, anywhere. It’s possible to edit recordings and add questions and annotations to specific times in the video. More information can be found on the Collegerama-website.

Groups
Creating groups of students, can facilitate communication or for group work. Unlimited group categories, max 200 groups per category, max group size: 200 students. Availabe in every Brightspace Course offering, no special access required.
Brightspace –
Self-enrollment group tool
Tool to facilitate students enrolling themselves in their self-preferred groups. Max 200 groups per self-enrollment set-up. Availabe in every Brightspace Course offering, no special access required.
MS Teams Tool for video and audio communication with individuals and groups and to work together on documents. Available to everyone at TU Delft, supported by ICT Teams and TLS.
ProjectCampus Projectcampus is a social learning environment for groups and projects and brings together any and all communication regarding learning in projects and groups in one place. Students can share their progress and discuss this in interactive project pages. A project in PC can be seen as a visual timeline and is either created by a single student or a group of students. Projects created in Projectcampus are related to Course Pages on which students can post questions or inspiration. The communication structure reminds users of the Facebook interface, although without any advertising, no privacy issues and created specifically for Education. Projectcampus makes monitoring student progress and providing feedback incredibly easy and replaces often, chaotic email threads. Access needs to be requested through TLS support for course offerings in Brightspace.
Wiki Foswiki implements the Wiki idea of a shared whiteboard where anyone can add content or change what is written or change the organization of the content. Access needs to be requested through TLS support for new users.
Overleaf Overleaf is an online collaborative scientific writing and publishing tool. It is designed to make the process of writing, editing, and producing scientific papers much quicker for authors.

FeedBackFruits – Interactive Audio Tool to help students engage with the in Feedbackfruits posted material before class with inline questions and discussions. Availabe in every Brightspace Course offering, no special access required.
FeedBackFruits – Interactive Document In a document uploaded to Feedbackfruits, students can see Inline questions and peer discussions linked to specific parts of the document to trigger the student to actively engage with the study material. Availabe in every Brightspace Course offering, no special access required.
FeedBackFruits – Interactive Video In a video posted to FeedbackFruits, students can see inline questions and peer discussions linked to specific times in the video to trigger the student to actively engage with the study material. Availabe in every Brightspace Course offering, no special access required.

(Peer) Feedback

BuddyCheck Buddycheck is a simple to set up and use peer evaluation tool which allows students to evaluate each team member’s performance in a group activity, as well as perform a self-assessment.
FeedBackFruits FeedbackFruits offers tools that enable you to make interactive content, give instant feedback to students, both during and after lectures, and allow students to discuss and share course material.

Test your students’ understanding of the content or their prior knowledge, with quizzes.
Möbius
(formerly MapleTA)
Möbius is a web-based system for creating tests, quizzes and assignments. It can automatically assesses student responses. If you are not yet using Möbius for your course in Brightspace, you need to contact TLS Support first to have it set up for your course.
Turnitin Plagiarism scanning tool available through Brightspace Assignments. Availabe in every Brightspace Course offering, no special access required.
